THE PROBLEM
Huge amounts of illegal dumping
WHAT WE DID
This illegal dumping was getting out of hand so we spent a chilly morning here for World Cleanup Day. We collected 183 yellow bags and 3 bulk bags full of litter. We also managed to clear some kerbing and pathways. We achieved so much in one morning with everyone playing their part to clear the Voortrekker Road bridge of litter and grass as well as painting kerbing to make this very busy road safer for all.
WHO MADE IT HAPPEN
What an awesome day showcasing community collaboration!!! We worked together with Afriforum Benoni, Heart of Benoni, Avenues Residents Association, Supercops, Benoni Taxi Association, Hammond Pole Attorneys and Pearson Attorneys.
