THE PROBLEM
One of the main entrances to Benoni is on Great North Road. Wordsworth High School has a boundary wall on this wall which was last painted 20 years ago with various murals. They were faded and had panels missing and did not provide a welcoming entrance to our town.
WHAT WE DID
The Schools Mural Competition was an incredible day with 18 Preschool, Primary and High Schools participating to completely transform the wall running along the bottom of Great North Road. The results are stunning! The mural is colourful, inclusive and inspiring.
WHO MADE IT HAPPEN
A huge thank you to Plascon and Hot Pot Paints for sponsorship of all the paint! The winners were chosen by votes from the community. Arbor Primary, a government primary school were the winners. They generously returned their prize money of R5 000 back to Clean Projects to continue our work uplifting our town of Benoni.
