THE PROBLEM
This bridge is used by 100’s of community members to reach the taxi rank on a daily basis. It was extremely unsafe with over grown grass, kerbing that was not visible, tons of litter, and open drains.
WHAT WE DID
We achieved so much in one morning with everyone playing their part to clear the Voortrekker Road bridge of litter and grass as well as painting kerbing to make this very busy road safer for all. We also had a sponsorship from Lovisa Concrete Products to cover a few of the open drains.
WHO MADE IT HAPPEN
What an awesome day showcasing community collaboration!!! We worked together with Afriforum Benoni, Heart of Benoni, Avenues Residents Association, Supercops, Benoni Taxi Association, Hammond Pole Attorneys and Pearson Attorneys.
