Mandela Day Clean Up Collaboration
DATE
LOCATION
26 July 2025
The veld area between Tom Jones and Bunyan at the N12 on and off ramps
THE PROBLEM
This area, which is passed by many motorists daily, was completely neglected. The grass was overgrown, the thorn trees needed to be pruned and the alien invasive poplar trees had taken over large portions of the area. Because of this neglect there was tons of illegal dumping as well as illegal squatting.
WHAT WE DID
We cut all the grass and cleared the kerbing around the perimeter.
We cleared the litter totalling 320 black bags!!
We pruned and thinned out the thorn trees and removed hundreds of invasive poplar trees.
WHO MADE IT HAPPEN
The true spirit of Unity, Service and Pride was definitely brought to life during this community event. This neglected area was brought back to life and we would love to thank everyone who made it possible!!
